InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta Review: A Luxury Stay in the Heart of Buckhead
If you want a luxury hotel in Atlanta that’s central and relaxing, consider the InterContinental Buckhead.
Our recent weekend staycation was seamless. From the moment we arrived, the front desk team made us feel at home, greeting us with smiles and recommending nearby parks our son might enjoy. When we needed extra towels late in the evening, housekeeping delivered them within minutes, along with a few complimentary bottles of water, a thoughtful touch. Friendly staff, spacious rooms, and thoughtful amenities made exploring Atlanta easy.
Location: Staying in the Heart of Buckhead
One of the biggest highlights is the hotel’s unique location, offering walkable access to Buckhead’s best shopping, dining, and nightlife while providing a peaceful, tucked-away atmosphere. Unlike some area hotels, you get proximity and tranquility in one address.
If you’re flying in, the property is located about 25 to 30 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, depending on traffic, making it a convenient option whether you’re visiting for a quick weekend or a longer stay.
Nearby, you’ll find Phipps Plaza, Lenox Square, and the Atlanta History Center, which were among our trip favorites. One standout amenity is the hotel’s complimentary house car service, making getting around Buckhead convenient. The car can be reserved through the front desk or concierge and operates daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. It covers trips within a two-mile radius, perfect for visiting local restaurants, shops, and attractions. Availability is first-come, first-served, so making arrangements ahead of time is recommended. You can read more about the location and hotel details here.
Rooms: Spacious, Comfortable, and Perfect for Families
For our stay, we booked a Classic Room with Two Queen Beds on a High Floor, and it was perfect for a family staycation. The hotel offers a range of room types ideal for families. Families can also request rollaway beds or cribs for added flexibility, making it easy to create a comfortable setup for children or larger groups.
We stayed on the 15th floor overlooking Peachtree Street, which gave the room a “wow” factor at night. The spacious layout, spotless cleanliness, and thoughtful storage set this hotel apart from others we’ve tried in Atlanta.
One thing I appreciated most was how functional the room felt while maintaining an elevated luxury-hotel atmosphere. Traveling with a child can sometimes make hotel rooms feel tight quickly, but that wasn’t the case here. In addition to classic queen rooms, the InterContinental Buckhead also offers king rooms, club-level accommodations, and suites for guests looking for additional space or upgraded experiences.
Amenities: Pool, Spa, and Relaxing Staycation Energy
The amenities at InterContinental Buckhead truly enhance the stay, offering a resort-like vibe rare in Atlanta hotels. We spent some relaxing time at the peaceful, well-maintained pool, a feature that stands out compared to other luxury hotels in Atlanta, which often have busy or smaller facilities.
The hotel also features an on-site full-service spa offering wellness-focused retreats not found at other nearby luxury properties. While I didn’t try a treatment during this visit, I stopped by to check out the facilities. The spa felt calm and inviting, with soothing music and a relaxing lounge where guests were unwinding after appointments. Based on my walkthrough and guest feedback, the spa adds another layer of relaxation and makes the hotel more appealing for anyone seeking a wellness escape.

Other amenities include a fitness center, concierge services, and the hotel’s house car for nearby transportation around Buckhead. The hotel offers valet and self-parking, with valet parking available for an additional nightly fee. If you’re bringing a pet, the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta is pet-friendly and welcomes dogs up to a certain weight for an extra cleaning fee, making it a convenient choice for travelers with furry companions.

Dining: Americano and the Lobby Coffee Cart
We had dinner at Americano, the hotel’s on-site restaurant, which offers elevated culinary experiences that rival local hotspots, making it a standout dining option within Buckhead hotels. Americano has a well-rounded kids’ menu with familiar favorites, and the staff was happy to answer questions about ingredients and offer dietary accommodations, which made dining with our son especially easy and reassuring for any family or guests with special dietary needs.
The atmosphere felt upscale while still being welcoming and comfortable for families. I especially appreciated how generous the kids’ portions were, which made dining there easier while traveling with my son.
Each morning, the lobby coffee cart served high-quality pastries and coffee right in the hotel, an amenity that made mornings easier and isn’t found at every luxury property in Atlanta.
Packages and Offers Worth Looking Into
InterContinental Buckhead offers curated packages with perks such as tickets to premier Atlanta attractions and exclusive discounts, providing added value not commonly offered by competing hotels. At the time of writing, popular packages like the Family Fun Package start around $350 per night and often include breakfast for the family plus tickets to local favorites like the Georgia Aquarium.
Seasonal offers and romance packages typically range from $300 to $450 per night, depending on dates and inclusions. You can browse and book these packages directly on the hotel’s official website by selecting your preferred dates and clicking on the Offers or Packages section.
Some packages include tickets to local attractions like the Georgia Aquarium and the Atlanta History Center, along with additional perks and exclusive discounts. We ended up visiting both during our staycation, and it honestly made planning activities so much easier.
If you’re visiting Atlanta with family or simply looking to turn your stay into more of an experience, it’s definitely worth checking out the available offers before booking.
Final Thoughts
Overall, our stay at the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta was truly perfect.
The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout the entire stay, the hotel itself was spotless, and every part of the experience felt thoughtful and elevated. Between the spacious rooms, relaxing amenities, excellent dining, and prime Buckhead location, it’s absolutely a hotel I would recommend for both visitors and locals planning a staycation in Atlanta.
This hotel makes weekends effortless from check-in onward.
