Move over cheese, we have a new board to enjoy this summer.
This Ice Cream Sundae Board is perfect for a night in with friends or family. The best part about this board is that it can be customized for children and adults!
TABLE OF CONTENTS
There is nothing better than Bruster’s Fresh Ice Cream on a hot summer day in the comfort of my home. When I thought about creating this ice cream board, I knew that this would be the perfect opportunity to pick up July’s new featured flavor, Caramel Chocolate Pretzel.
Bruster’s Fresh Ice Cream has over 150 ice cream flavors and each location makes up to 24 daily! That is one of the many reasons why Bruster’s is my go-to for ice cream. When the idea of creating an ice cream sundae board came to mind, I immediately knew that I had to get a few fun flavors from Bruster’s Ice Cream.
I really enjoyed putting this board together. There are so many elements that create endless combinations for a sundae bowl or ice cream cone. The best part about this ice cream board is that everyone can join in and enjoy ice cream!
WHAT YOU NEED
Depending on your style, you can either use a large rectangle board but in my case, I used this Walnut Lazy Suzan. It swivels making it easy for everyone to access the toppings. To keep the ice cream cold, I placed a deep pie dish and filled it with ice to keep the ice cream cold.
ICE CREAM
I picked up family favorites from my local Bruster’s. I asked for pint-sized containers but the sizing will depend on the number of people that you will have. We had Cookie Craze, Caramel Chocolate Pretzel, and Cake Batter. For the board, I had the options for waffle bowls and cones.
TOPPINGS
Bruster’s has many topping options. I picked up cookie dough bites, brownie bites, and mini Reese’s cups. Since we are already ice cream lovers in our home, I loaded up the board with gummy worms, mini cookies, chocolates, tons of sprinkles, and of course, fluffy marshmallows.
OTHER TOPPING IDEAS: Since my ice cream was tailored more for kids, you can make an adult version by adding fresh fruit, nuts, dark chocolates, and more.
HOW TO MAKE AN ICE CREAM SUNDAE BOARD
- Start with an empty board. Place toppings in small bowls and set them aside.
- Place the medium dish in the center of the bowl to give you an idea of where you will be placing your toppings.
- Start surrounding your medium dish with your cones and waffle bowl.
- Begin filling the board with your small bowls that contain the toppings. – Fill the remaining areas with smaller candies or extra toppings
- Have fun with your board and remember that it does not have to be perfect.
