It is no secret that I love wine. As long as I lived in my home, I’ve always wanted a built-in wine fridge. Hisense was kind enough to send me their new 46-Bottle Capacity  Dual Zone Cooling Built-In/Freestanding Wine Chiller to start my first major home improvement project. Yes – I did my wine fridge built in!

ABOUT THE WINE CHILLER

The Hisense 46-Bottle dual zone wine chiller has a beautifully sleek and modern design. Designed with a stainless steel handle and door frame, this wine chiller has an anti-UV glass to keep your wine at a perfect temperature. The energy-efficient Low E and UV-protected glass filters out UV rays. This protects your wine from premature aging.

This wine chiller has five strong soft-close shelves that can handle the capacity of the wine bottles per self and minimize the vibrations when opening and closing. The great thing about this wine fridge is that it is a front venting unit. This gives you the option of using the wine fridge as a free-standing fridge or to be used as a built-in.

Along with it being versatile for use, this model has a reversible door design that allows more flexibility when installing. Another great feature about this particular wine fridge is that it has a dual cooling zone. The dual cooling zones allow red and white wines stored separately at their ideal temperatures. These temperatures range from41°F – 68°F.

There is an LED digital control located on the inside of the wine fridge that allows you to control the temperature in each zone. If for some reason your door stays open, the open door alarm automatically alerts you before the wines inside go above their ideal temperature. How amazing is that!

DIY WINE FRIDGE BUILT-IN

I love my wine bar and coffee bar station but I always visualized having a wine fridge in this area. The first step is triple-checking your measurements to make sure that the wine fridge fits seamlessly into the area.

After selecting the wine fridge from Hisense, the demolition of the existing cabinet started. To be honest, that might have been the hardest part. Once the old cabinet was gone, the Hisense wine fridge went into the area.

DIY Built In Wine Fridge

Assembling the wine fridge was very simple. The main thing that needed to be done was to reverse the door handle to make it swing in the opposite direction. Once that was complete, I ordered a single freestanding cabinet from Lowe’s and had them match my current cabinet paint.

Once the cabinet was installed, I just needed a few pieces of molding to make everything look seamless and my wine bar area was complete. This project did not take as long and I could not be any happier with my space.
